ABOUT PH

Hello and a warm welcome to the Phyto-Healing website. Collectively we are a group of Medicinal herbalists and Nutritional therapists that practice throughout London and the surrounding areas. We have put together this website to provide you with information about us as practitioners, our therapies and also a place to access information that will hopefully help you on your journey to health and wellbeing.

The word “PHYTO” is derived from the Greek word meaning PLANT (ref). Plants have always played a very important role in our lives, not only forming the basis of our food and medicine but also our very existence as they provide us with the air we breath. Nature has given to us through plants vital vitamins, minerals, nutrients and chemicals that our bodies require to maintain optimal health. How we choose to utilise this gift is up to us.

The practice of using plants as medicine has been around for centuries. However, in recent years there’s been an increased awareness of the benefits that complementary and alternative therapies can have on promoting natural health. These therapies include Nutrition and Herbal Medicine.

About Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine is the science and art of using plant remedies in the prevention and treatment of ill-health. Herbal medicine employs plants to assist the body in it’s natural healing. It is a gentle and effective approach to healthcare that can be used in treating both acute and chronic conditions with minimal side effects.

Although Medicinal herbalists are trained in the same diagnostic techniques as mainstream doctors, a holistic approach is adopted. In contrast to mainstream medicine, Herbal medicine aims the address the underlying causes of health issues and not merely treating symptoms. Patient is treated on an individual basis, taking into account their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Diet and lifestyle will also be taken into account and changes are recommended were necessary.
